| Exceptional impression in red. Paper somewhat browned. Signed in brown ink “JTh Toorop”. The brown ink visible verso. Impressions in red are very rare. Only two are known in collections open to public. One in Boymans (probably the one in the RPK catalogue, from the van Moorsel collection) and one in the Amsterdam Prentenkabinet. The sitting figure is according to information supplied by Van Moorsel is the painter Johan Thorn Prikker. |
